Embracing Adventure in Luxurious lap of Aman-i-Khas

9 days from

‘Khas’ connotes special and such is the charm of anything astounding or exceptional that the day you feel or experience special you stop dreaming. And all this comes true at Aman-i-Khas, a wilderness expedition camp nestled in the outskirts of Ranthambore National Park. It is against the backdrop of the Aravalli Hills in rural Rajasthan; amidst the incredible milieu of rugged brushwood expanse and dwelling to plenteous wildlife. The Mughal-style ten extensive tents are sited to ensure utmost seclusion and privacy, where the only chirping of birds and the gentle rustling of leaves intervenes in the stillness.

A stay in luxury tent in Ranthambhore essays with spacious living spaces, classic furnishings, and decor reminiscent of the royalty. Each tent is in an extensive area of 108 square meters, segregated into sleeping, bathing and dressing room, and with a lofty six-meter canopy. Adding deep serenity are the interior walls and ceilings draped in fine white cotton. The temperature inside the tent is regulated according to the requirement. The bedroom is lavish and plush in graceful Mughal style, with a king-size bed having a writing desk on both sides. The dressing room houses vanities and cupboards and the bathroom is elegantly in-style with a tub, shower and a separate toilet.

In the conventional setting of luxurious ambiance, there is a large communal outdoor fireplace in the central area and a step-well swimming pool secluded with the grove of trees. The other common tents in the camp include a lounge tent with a wide selection of books; a spa tent with separate treatment areas, therapies and massage tables. The dining tent with romantic candle-lit setup serves mainly Indian cuisine and a range of Western dishes with fresh vegetables and herbs essentially grown in the camp’s organic kitchen garden.

Each tent has a designated Batman, to personally look after the guests and also accompanies them to the tour around to temples, streets of the old city, cultural sites and into the jungle, along the River Chambal. Led by national park-approved guides, twice daily in the early morning or late afternoon there’s a 3.5-hour safari in an open-top vehicle. It is one of the best places to see tigers amongst other wildlife and around 300 species of bird.
